Airway Orthodontics for the Comprehensive Dentist and Orthodontist

The relevance for the airway to all aspects of dentistry is becoming more apparent as we struggle with the compensations created by poor breathing and sleep.  In this course, dentists  will learn how to recognize Airway-Centered Diseases and about the various treatment approaches being used today.  An arguement for Medically Indicated Orthodontic Care will be made.

A Master Class for the SLP and OMT

Prevention of Feeding, Speech, and Mouth Development Problems  (Birth - Age 2)

In this session, SLP's will learn how to keep babies and young children (birth to age 2-years) on track to prevent or reduce life-long feeding, speech, and mouth development problems. There are many children on our caseloads who were born with typically developing mouths but then something went wrong (particularly in the first year). These children develop low tongue resting positions, high narrow palates, small nasal airways, feeding and speech problems, etc. These difficulties could be avoided if parents and caregivers used appropriate feeding, speech, and mouth development techniques and activities beginning at birth. Prevention is the key, and my goal is to help you do that!

Pediatric Dentistry Mini-residency Update & Silver Mediated Atraumatic Restorative Therapy (SMART)

This short course will help the GP beef up the skills needed to enter the expanding pediatric market.  Technique and behavioral management skills are taught by the former chairman of the Mt Sinai School of Medicne Pediatric Dentistry program.

A Master Class for IBCLCs

The Oral Habilitation of the Breastfeeding Dyad

IBCLCs! Join us for a 2-day intensive Master Class as we present, discuss and explore the various tricks, tools, resources, interventions and innovative techniques that we can utilize as IBCLCs in supporting the habilitation of the breastfeeding dyad in overcoming oral dysfunction.

Curing Sleep Disordered Breathing in the Young Child

While others are debating the relative value of "Early Treatment Orthodontics", we know that this approach has nothing to do with the teeth and everything to do with the growing face, the airway, and being able to get a good night's sleep.

Drs. Boyd, Evans and Raphael will describe the approaches they use in their respective practices to help young children grow to their utmost NATURAL potential.

Dr. Loghmanee will address the airway and sleep issues from a medical perspective that reinforces the need for early treatment.
